ABOUT ME
Radek Bruna
My name is Radek Bruna, and I have been a member of the Filmká Stunt Team Czech Republic since 1999. I entered the stunt profession from a competitive sports background—I hold a black belt in karate and am a former Champion of the Czech Republic as well as the former Czechoslovak Federative Republic. A defining personal and professional experience for me was the opportunity to train under Jaroslav Tomsa, a true legend of our field, whose guidance fundamentally shaped my professional direction and approach to stunt work.
Throughout my career, I have systematically focused on developing a wide range of skills, including various martial arts, gymnastics, police and military tactics, weapons handling, and acting. Over time, I deliberately integrated these disciplines into my film work, leading to a deep specialization in realistic, technically precise, and above all safely executed action scenes.

A major milestone in my career was my participation in the film Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott, where I worked as a stunt performer and also portrayed a small acting role as the sniper Clark. The hands-on experience gained during this production became the foundation for the creation of the Filmka Tactical Department, a specialized unit focused on military and police tactics, authentic unit movement, weapons handling, and the safe execution of demanding action sequences. More detailed information about this unit can be found in the dedicated Tactical Department section.
In 2003, I worked as a stunt performer on the film Shanghai Knights, for which I was nominated—along with five other stunt performers—for the World Stunt Awards 2004 in Los Angeles in the category Best Fight, for a combat sequence in Shanghai Knights featuring Jackie Chan. This nomination represented not only a significant professional honor, but also a strong confirmation of the direction of my specialization.

With the goal of maintaining the highest professional standards over the long term, I have continually expanded my expertise through specialized courses and training programs. These include instruction in tactics, firearms, rescue operations, helicopter rappelling, diving, and other disciplines closely related to action filmmaking. I actively apply this knowledge to film projects both in the Czech Republic and internationally.
II began my stunt career in 1999, and since 2014 I have also worked as a stunt coordinator. In this role, I combine hands-on on-set experience with specialized expertise in tactics, firearms, rescue operations, acting, and martial arts. As a stunt coordinator, I work within the Filmka Stunt Team, which includes a range of specialized departments such as rigging, water stunts, horse stunts, tactical units, vehicle stunts, fire stunts, fencing, and other disciplines.

Thanks to this comprehensive structure, we are able to fully meet the personnel, technical, and equipment requirements of film productions and provide tailored solutions for each individual project.
Thanks to my formal acting training, I am able to better understand the needs of actors, actresses, and stunt performers preparing for specific roles. This allows me to effectively and safely prepare them for physically and technically demanding scenes—both during training and directly on set.
Safety is always my absolute priority and the fundamental cornerstone of every action sequence I am involved in.
